Stonehenge Touring Park is one of the Top 100 UK Sites 2017.

This award, for the sixth year running, means a lot to us because they're not awarded by tourist board inspectors, judges or a panel of 'experts', they're voted for by people just like you - our guests - who've enjoyed their stay with us so much that they've taken the time to vote. So Thank you so very much to all the guests who gave us a vote, we hope to see you again very soon, and if you've not stayed with us yet, you know that you're going to be staying at one of the top sites in the UK !

A selection of the feedback and emails you have sent in, with a big thank you for all your time and effort.

August 2016

We stayed with you on 22/8/16 and wanted to let you know how much we loved your site. It is so peaceful, the setting is beautiful, the shop was great and  the showers and loos were spotlessly clean. We will definitely stay again in the future. You were very friendly and welcoming and a great asset to the family business. We wish you and your wife lots of love with your imminent new arrival!
Thank you for a wonderful stay,
Leonie (Miller) Mark Callum and Ollie Collings

We visited for the first time in August 2016.
A short stay of two nights with our two young grandchildren. We all loved the site, quiet, very clean and friendly . The large green space with a play area was particularly popular with the children who happily mixed with other children from Italy, Netherlands and Germany- a great experience for them.
Staff very helpful indeed, shop well stocked.
Location is great for Stonehenge and the many other local attractions, yet the site is so peaceful one could just stay on site all day!
Simply cannot fault the site or staff, we will certainly be coming back again!

September 2015

Just a short note to let you know what our thoughts were about your park. We booked a 2 night stay from Friday 25th Sept 15, had help from you pushing our caravan onto its pitch so a big thankyou for that. A lovely, quiet park, toilets and showers were lovely and clean, only downside and this is just a preference of ours was that the showers weren't hot enough but other than that can't complain at all. Loved the tourist shed with leaflets of places to visit, bought a few back with us to plan other trips. Will definitely book again next year

Feedback from the BH&HPA survey

Dear Stonehenge Touring Park,
A respondent has indicated that they were very satisfied with your park overall, and wrote the following comment:
What a great little site they really do go the extra mile for you we got lost on the way in and they all came out looking for us they really did go above and beyond the call of duty. Have been camping for over 5 years and this is the first site that the owners have shown up on site to make sure everyone is happy (they haven't waited for us to come and find them not that we had any problems) would definitely recommend this site.

Feedback from the BH&HPA survey

Dear Stonehenge Touring Park,
A respondent has indicated that they were very satisfied with your park overall, and wrote the following comment:
When we arrived we realised that we had forgotten to pack the tent poles, amazingly the park owner had some spare poles which he lent to us free of charge and although they didn't fit perfectly they were good enough for us to stay comfortably for the two nights we had booked.  Without them it would have been a long drive home again.  Very very grateful!

May 2015

Dear Julie,

We have just returned from our first weekend camp of the year. We were booked under the Burnett group, we are so pleased we chose to visit Stonehenge Touring Park. We received a lovely warm welcome from the "Saints Supporter" (sorry we didn't get his name).

It's a beautiful site, the pitches are lovely and well kept. It was so nice to have hot/cold washing up facilities too. The hot food van on site was a real bonus. Your shop was brilliantly well stocked, everything a camper would need. I was surprised to hear that you are upgrading the Ladies bathroom, as I thought it was modern, clean and really a good size too.

I have enclosed the voting form and we are sure you will have no problem being voted into the Top 100 sites again.

Look forward to our next visit, hopefully later in the season.

Yours faithfully

Sara K

Hi Guys,
Enjoyed our stay with you on the weekend of the 23rd Aug, and hope to come back soon.
I was the bloke with the helicopter/camera thing that I will bring next visit to film the site from the air more flying training needed at the mo!

Hi Rob and Julie,
We would just like to say thank you for making our stay special. The site is beautiful, intimate, homely and well kept. The facilities you offer are fantastic and cater for all campers needs. It was a blessing to have a table and a park for the kids to play it. We also loved the fact that the site was safe and that everyone respected one another. Rob thank you for all your help and advice in helping us plan our day trips, it was really invaluable and we appreciate you going that extra mile to be so helpful. I loved the
fact that you had a wee library and information centre. You should advertise that more. It's quirky and unique. Thanks again. Enjoy the rest of the season. Hopefully see you sometime in the future.
Kind regards

Hiya, thank you for letting us stay at your park. We had an amazing time, so much so we are thinking of coming back next year.

February 2014

Hi Julie

Just wanted to say thank you for a lovely stay at your caravan site. We had a great time, all helped by the fantastic weather! It was lovely to stay on a smaller site as we have only ever been to a caravan club one. We will definitely be returning for the odd weekend and I have already given your details to a couple of my friends.

Hope you have a lovely summer.

August 2013

My boyfriend, my mum and I stayed here for about ten days and it was wonderful! The people that run the Stonehenge Touring Park are very loving, warm-hearted, accomodating folks that pretty much invented the word hospitality. The facilities were, without fault, spotlessly clean and their showers were hot and pleasant. There's no hassle of shower coins, running out of decently hot water or foreign hair in the drains. The campsite is beautiful, just like how a campsite should be; no open fiels, but instead trees, shrubs and corners that provide shadow and privacy. The campsite backs onto a lovely woodland-ish footpath to walk your dog and onto open grazing pastures on the right. The pastures gave us stunning views from our pitch and the resident horses came by to say hello every now and then. The campsite also provided really nice wooden picnic tables for the pitches, a feat which I have not yet seen in the UK. The shop on the campsite had a good variety of products for friendly prices -- if you would want to stay on the site for the duration of your holiday without going anywhere, you could do your shopping there without going broke! The tariffs for their pitches are really good as well, not overpriced like so many other campsites. We fell in love with the campsite and its great location as it's so close to so many lovely places; Salisbury, Avebury, Stonehenge, the quaint little town of Market Lavington, the beautiful town of Devizes (which has loads of LOVELY charity shops), and so many more! We love it and we will definitely be coming back soon!!

Hi Julie,

Many thanks for your hospitality during our stay last weekend. We have a wonderful stay and plan to come back again in the future. I’ve posted a good review on to reflect our satisfaction with your site.

Hi, We have just returned from a two night stay at your camp site and just wanted to say how impressed we where with the cleanliness of the site and the friendly welcome and help we received while on site.

We will definitely be recommending you to our friends and look forward to visiting you again soon ,thanks again..

“Such a wonderful camp site”

We have absolutely loved staying at this campsite for the last week. It is very well looked after and maintained. It is just the right size with a young family to allow the children to freely play and not worry about them wandering too far. The toilets and shower blocks were clean and tidy, launderette with a washing line was incredibly reasonable and the shop was like Aladdin's cave and items weren't expensive at all.

We cant wait to go back! Thank you so much.

Thank you very much for your hospitality

We  really had a good time staying on youre camping.

The kindness, the shop, the showers and of course the free wifi for the kids.

We will leave tomorrow but we will definitely return

June 2013

My family and I just spent the weekend at Stonehenge Touring Park 16th June2013, around 35 of us. I must say what the site lacks in size, it more than makes up for in caricature ! Great owners make you feel very welcome, great little shop. Showers and wash room was always very clean and well maintained. They even have a little charity library shop. I can't speak highly enough of the site, and the owners. Thank you for a great weekend .

Thanks for having us, we had a great time on your beautiful camp site. Bonus being you are awesome people.

Take care, see you soon.

“Lovely campsite, couldn't be beaten”

My friends and I stayed at Stonehenge touring park to enjoy the Summer Solstice at Stonehenge. We were really impressed with the great facilities and great location. Everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained. The owners clearly take pride in ensuring a great stay for campers and couldn't be more approachable, informative and friendly. There is a well stocked shop with everything you need at reasonable prices. The toilets and showers were kept clean, with constant hot water. The washing up area has hot water and they provide washing up liquid and washing up sponges, a great bonus! There was a lovely relaxing atmosphere on site. It is one of the best campsites we've stayed on and we highly recommend it.

“Ein Juwel von Campingplatz”

Au dem Weg nach Wales dort übernachtet, toller und hilfsbereiter Empfang, die ganze Anlage sehr sauber und gepflegt, etwas versteckt gelegen, ruhig, ab und zu übt die Armee in der Nähe, kann also etwas knallen... Im Navigation als Favorit abgespeichert, meine absolute Empfehlung!

“2 Geordies in Wiltshire”

Lovely campsite, usual facilities including an on site washing machine, mobile phone charging (both for a very small price), and a well stocked shop.
The couple who own and run the site are very friendly, and very accommodating (they're old cat is also very lovable and likes a cuddle).
Found the site to be clean, and well tended, tree lined and private.
They're were plenty of kids on site, as this is a family run site, however at night time it was very pleasing to hear everything go quiet, all you could hear were Sheep and Wood Pigeons.
On the Wednesday we walked to Stonehenge and one of the owners gave us directions along the byways to avoid the A360, which is a busy country road. The walk was 7 miles, but you passed some lovely quiet countryside, and we thoroughly enjoyed the walk despite the fact that it rained most of the way.
When we got back the owner asked us if we would like to move our tent because there was a bit of flooding at the bottom of the field due to heavy rainfall, but this was nothing to worry about, and once the sun came out the field dried up really quick. We noticed that one of the owners then took care in showing new campers the best places to pitch, away from the damp patches.
The site is ideally placed for seeing Stonehenge, Salisbury and other attractions in the area.
We are planning on going back next year to the site, and are very much looking forward to it.

July 2011

Dear Family,
We really had a great vacation on the Stonehenge Touring Parc. It was our first camping trip after our son Michaël was born and it was great.
The parc has the right size to have this nice "family" feel and it was good to be able to say to our son: "?Yeah, go on and play!"
As a bonus our son really enjoyed the mowing of the lawn!!!
Thanks for all the good information and the warm welcome. We think we might be back one day in the future.
Kind and warm regard, Richard, Christel and Michaël,

We had a beautiful spot for our little camping van and tent. The staff where all very polite and had lot's of information. The site is a good starting point for trips in to the area and we have seen lots of crop circles!

It was our first camping trip and last minute and I found booking with Stonehenge Touring Park a good experience they were very quick with responses and very friendly to deal with. The site is very clean with good facilities, with being new to camping your first experience is very important cause if it bad then it can put you off going again so I am glad I chose Stonehenge as it has given me a good out looking on camping.. or in my case glamping!!

Dear Stonehenge Touring Park,
A respondent has indicated that they were very satisfied with your park overall, and wrote the following comment:
The staff were friendly and approachable-fantastic with the children which  is always a plus note. We were absolutely delighted with the park and the  facilities, so much so we have already booked for august. The play area was small, however this was really no problem as the children were constantly amused by either bike riding, little nature walks, feeding the nearby horses and of course making lots of friends :o) A real little gem has been found here, and we have been to many a holiday park but this is our favourite by miles. Clean, reasonably priced and welcoming with any facilities you need for a good camping holiday-Highly recommended.

Dear Stonehenge Touring Park,

I would like to say how fantastic our stay was and what a little gem of a site we have found and certainly be returning to, I've stayed in a few campsites in my time but this one is simply the best there is, everything was perfect to make our stay very comfy and cosy and the owners were very helpful and lovely people, our holiday was made perfect by the simple fact of where we were staying, I highly recommend this wonderful little site, if anyone wants a quiet holiday then this is the place for you, a perfect
little gem, everything you wish for a perfect holiday.

Hi Julie and family
Thought I would send a mail to say we really enjoyed our break this weekend, shame it had to end, I'm already looking at when we can get away again! we were so lucky with the weather, normally when we book to go anywhere it rains for us so that was fab.
Everything on the site was great, everything we needed in the shop and was even better when I found out you did ice block exchange, so now we can come for longer and don't have to worry about keeping things cool! and you sold ice, which was nice for my G&T's ha ha
Thanks for a warm and friendly stay we will be back again soon.

Feedback from the August BH&HPA survey

August 2010

Hi Julie
Have left feedback on your survey (see below) but just wanted to let you know  what a brilliant four days we had with you. We broke up the journey to Cornwall by staying with you - my dad was in the Army and we lived at Middle Wallop - gutted that my house has gone!!! But we had a brill time exploring the area. We were particularly impressed with your personal touch in taking us to our pitch then checking back that we were settled. Never had that before!!! Don't rush to stock up on Marigold's - got out of washing up for four days!!!!
You have a site that is in a fantastic location, totally comfy and cosy, no noise, just peace and tranquillity. We chose you for that reason and we weren't disappointed. A truly chill zone. Thank you for the experience.
Cheers for now

August 2010

Feedback left on BH&HPA survey by The Clarke Crew

This is a little gem of a site! Julie and Co. were the most welcoming we have ever encountered. It was a truly multi national experience during our short stay and a beautiful setting. A comfy, cosy, quiet, family orientated site. We deliberately chose one that didn't have 'entertainment' because we wanted peaceful tranquillity, and that's what we got. An excellent base to explore the surrounding area, one in which I grew up for 18 months based at Middle Wallop. I cannot say anything negative about this experience. My comment previously was about the number of facilities available but that is a minor issue. I just went back to the van and had another cup of tea!!!! We particularly valued their personal assistance on arrival, showing us the pitch and checking back that we were settled and set up. That's customer service at it's best. A really personal and friendly host - and great with kids!!! The reception shop was well stocked with essentials (except Marigolds!!!) and the information hut was full of brochures for places to see and a book loan service! (Didn't have time to use this) Thoroughly recommended site.

Hello Julie
We wanted to thank you both for a great stay with you last week.  We thought your site was very child friendly and relaxing.  Thank you for all your consideration and help.  By the way the journey home on the M25 was not too bad, all the traffic was coming the other way!  Hope you have a successful summer season and that you get a holiday yourself some time!

April 2010

Dear Julie and Family

What a lovely campsite. Clean toilet facilities, and clean washing up area. A nice little field, with friendly owners.

We really loved the site and would love to come again to stay. I did not know when I booked our holiday that my husband had learned to walk on the site 50 years ago before it became an established campsite. I hope the photo's of the site 50 years ago will be nice when they go to print for the history of the site and surrounding area's. I hope you have shown your parents the pictures of what it looked like all them years ago.

My mother in law was on a high when she left to go home, especially after revisiting the site after all these years.

So thank you once again Julie and your dear hubby .

Judy Richard Martin and Susan.

April 2010

I stayed for one night at your camp site yesterday while cycling to Stonehenge from Didcot on my bike. Just to say thank you and that I would stay again, perhaps in the warmer weather though when the ground is not so soft, although I managed to keep my tent pretty clean in spite of that. Nice quiet site and good shop.
I am not too sure what my next challenge is gong to be but if I am heading south at least I have another place I can stay.

Just to thank you for the stay at your site it was nice shame about all the rain .
Thank you Richard .

Hi Julie,

I just wanted to say thank you for your hospitality during my recent stay. As last time, facilities were good and clean and the shop realistically priced.  You give off a friendly vibe that seems to be picked up by the people who stay at your site. Brilliant the way you mix in with the clients.  Hope I stay once more this year and next want to bring my wife and grand-children as it is a safe site and great break.

What a fantastic Gem of a site small and quiet, very clean facilities block which was heated between 6.00am and 10.00am and again between 6.00pm and 11.00pm.
After reading the previous review about this site we came to the conclusion we were not visiting the same site.
The owners were very friendly and helpful.
The shop was closed during our visit, but we have found this on many many sites over the winter period.
We did ask about the ratings system and were told that all parks are graded every year so not just once and forgotten about.
We would definitely return here again.

This is just a quick note to thank you for a lovely weekend last weekend .
We were very glad to be staying on a site where, even though I managed to disturb you at times other than those published in the office window, nothing seemed too much trouble on what turned out to be a devilishly cold weekend - I think it is the first time I have ever seen icicles forming inside a tent!!
So, many thanks and we hope to come and stay with you again sometime. Do you also take group bookings? (We are often four or five tents and it is sometimes hard to find sites where more than three tents in a group are accepted.)

August 2008

We stayed with you from 2nd to 10th August and really enjoyed our time on your park.

We found the site drained well, which was good in light of the amount of rain we had, the toilets etc clean and that the shop was open for long hours for those "essentials" we forgot.

After speaking to many other visitors who were returning for their umpteenth visit, we will be doing the same should we be in the area again. Also should any friends be going to the area, we will be giving them the name of your site as one to go to.

Once we left your site, we ventured into the Peak district to a much larger site but found it to be a massive disappointment, often lamenting that we could not transport your site to the area we were now in.

Once again, thanks.

Hi This is a super little campsite. We were really made welcome, and made to feel special. Nothing was too much trouble, the facilities were quite basic but totally in keeping with the site. Showers, toilets, dish washing facilities, hot water - more than enough, even when the site was full. An ideal site for visiting the surrounding attractions. We will be coming back - well done and thank you for making our holiday so special

Thanks for your hospitality.

Hiya Julie

Just to let you know were all home safe, very tired but safe.....

I've been asked to ask if you have available a caravan or chalet to hire for 2 adults for next solstice?

Once again thanks for putting up with us and apart from the weather it was again a great holiday........see you both again real soon

Dear Julie,

Having spent last weekend at Stonehenge Touring Park, we just had to email you.

It was our first ever visit to your park, and what a fantastic place it was. No hassles, extremely good size pitches and good old fashioned family fun.

The toilet / shower blocks were kept immaculate as was the dishwashing area and the constant supply of hot water was unbelievable (unlike many other larger sites that we have visited over the years.)

Your site offers people like us a completely relaxing time where good old fashioned family fun takes over from the stresses of the working week.

My husband, daughter (10) and myself almost lost track of time playing cricket, badminton, boules etc. and even our camping neighbours joined in for friendly competition.

We have already highly recommended you to friends of ours, and can't wait to come back SOON. We only live in Warminster, but once at Stonehenge Touring Park, we feel like we are a million miles away!

Well done and keep up the good work, hope to see you very soon, that is if you have a vacancy for large tent with electric hook-up for 2 nights - Friday 22nd June / Saturday 23rd June. At present it is just 2 adults, 1 child, but that may well change to a few more.

With Very Kind Regards

Maria, Paul and Mica

Hi Julie and family,
just to say thanks, we had a lovely stay at the park and had some lovely camping neighbours. They all commented on how well behaved 6 teenagers were!! So they did us proud. The weekend was capped by the fantastic weather at Stonehenge and a beautiful visit to Salisbury, we were lucky enough to catch a service at the Cathedral. We hope to see you again and have recommended the site to good friends within our vw club.

Have a good summer regards Clare

Lovely camping and caravanning site not far from Stonehenge. It's in a tiny village called Orcheston. Campsite itself allows caravans in the same field as tents. Spacious field with climbing frame for children. Site shop open, clean shower block. Good for wandering, we found a Norman church hidden away after going for an evening stroll. The campsite allows BBQ's as long as they're raised on bricks and disposed of properly. Dogs allowed.
Only thing I will say is, the ground is rife with flint. We barely had enough pegs left after taking a very long time to put the tent up! If going, take twice as many as you would normally use.

Perfect location, calm and well looked after

Stayed three nights in mid July, very nice owners, helpful. It was busy, but quiet, clean toilets and showers. When I go to Wiltshire again I'll stay at Stonehenge Camping.

Good day,

I hope this e-mail finds you and your family well. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and to praise your wonderful camp site.

The facilities were excellent and you were always there to help with any queries. Initially booked for just 2 nights, you provided us with a pitch for a further 3 nights at very short notice for which we were very grateful. Putting tents up and taking them down in the rain is not a welcoming thought. You even through in a field mouse for free!!!

Thank you once again for making my first visit in a lot of years to Wiltshire a pleasant memory. We will recommend your site to anyone who asks and I will probably bring some friends down to Thruxton this coming year. We are already looking at dates.

Hi, Julie,

Just a note to thank you for returning my daughters lost Tamigotchi and jacket. My daughter was so pleased that it wasn't lost.

Our family really enjoyed our stay and it would be difficult to find a more helpful and friendly site.

I will add an appropriate review for you at UK

I’ve been twice once with my mate, and the second time with my mate and my brother each time has been brill, I would advice any one who enjoys camping to visit Stonehenge Caravan Park in Orcheston. Keep up the good work.
