Feedback from the August BH&HPA survey

August 2010

Hi Rob and Julie
Have left feedback on your survey (see below) but just wanted to let you know  what a brilliant four days we had with you. We broke up the journey to Cornwall by staying with you - my dad was in the Army and we lived at Middle Wallop - gutted that my house has gone!!! But we had a brill time exploring the area. We were particularly impressed with your personal touch in taking us to our pitch then checking back that we were settled. Never had that before!!! Don't rush to stock up on Marigold's - got out of washing up for four days!!!!
You have a site that is in a fantastic location, totally comfy and cosy, no noise, just peace and tranquillity. We chose you for that reason and we weren't disappointed. A truly chill zone. Thank you for the experience.
Cheers for now

Feedback left on BH&HPA survey by The Clarke Crew

This is a little gem of a site! Julie and Rob were the most welcoming we have ever encountered. It was a truly multi national experience during our short stay and a beautiful setting. A comfy, cosy, quiet, family orientated site. We deliberately chose one that didn't have 'entertainment' because we wanted peaceful tranquillity, and that's what we got. An excellent base to explore the surrounding area, one in which I grew up for 18 months based at Middle Wallop. I cannot say anything negative about this experience. My comment previously was about the number of facilities available but that is a minor issue. I just went back to the van and had another cup of tea!!!! We particularly valued Rob's personal assistance on arrival, showing us the pitch and checking back that we were settled and set up. That's customer service at it's best. A really personal and friendly host - and great with kids!!! The reception shop was well stocked with essentials (except Marigolds!!!) and the information hut was full of brochures for places to see and a book loan service! (Didn't have time to use this) Thoroughly recommended site.

Hello Julie
We wanted to thank you both for a great stay with you last week.  We thought your site was very child friendly and relaxing.  Thank you for all your consideration and help.  By the way the journey home on the M25 was not too bad, all the traffic was coming the other way!  Hope you have a successful summer season and that you get a holiday yourself some time!
Regards
The Alexanders and Crosses.

My son has enjoyed doing his circus skills with other campers learning new skills each yr .  looking forward to coming in a few weeks Ann xx

Dear Julie and Family

What a lovely campsite. Clean toilet facilities, and clean washing up area. A nice little field, with friendly owners.

We really loved the site and would love to come again to stay. I did not know when I booked our holiday that my husband had learned to walk on the site 50 years ago before it became an established campsite. I hope the photo's of the site 50 years ago will be nice when they go to print for the history of the site and surrounding area's. I hope you have shown your parents the pictures of what it looked like all them years ago.

My mother in law was on a high when she left to go home, especially after revisiting the site after all these years.

So thank you once again Julie and your dear hubby .

Hello,

I stayed for one night at your camp site yesterday while cycling to Stonehenge from Didcot on my bike. Just to say thank you and that I would stay again, perhaps in the warmer weather though when the ground is not so soft, although I managed to keep my tent pretty clean in spite of that. Nice quiet site and good shop.
I am not too sure what my next challenge is gong to be but if I am heading south at least I have another place I can stay.
Regards,

Mike.

Hi Julie,

I just wanted to say thank you for your hospitality during my recent stay. As last time, facilities were good and clean and the shop realistically priced.  You give off a friendly vibe that seems to be picked up by the people who stay at your site. Brilliant the way you mix in with the clients.  Hope I stay once more this year and next want to bring my wife and grand-children as it is a safe site and great break.

Regards

Ian

What a fantastic Gem of a site small and quiet, very clean facilities block which was heated between 6.00am and 10.00am and again between 6.00pm and 11.00pm.
After reading the previous review about this site we came to the conclusion we were not visiting the same site.
The owners were very friendly and helpful.
The shop was closed during our visit, but we have found this on many many sites over the winter period.
We did ask about the ratings system and were told that all parks are graded every year so not just once and forgotten about.
We would definitely return here again.

Hallo,

This is just a quick note to thank you for a lovely weekend last weekend .
We were very glad to be staying on a site where, even though I managed to disturb you at times other than those published in the office window, nothing seemed too much trouble on what turned out to be a devilishly cold weekend - I think it is the first time I have ever seen icicles forming inside a tent!!
So, many thanks and we hope to come and stay with you again sometime. Do you also take group bookings? (We are often four or five tents and it is sometimes hard to find sites where more than three tents in a group are accepted.)

August 2008

We stayed with you from 2nd to 10th August and really enjoyed our time on your park.

We found the site drained well, which was good in light of the amount of rain we had, the toilets etc clean and that the shop was open for long hours for those "essentials" we forgot.

After speaking to many other visitors who were returning for their umpteenth visit, we will be doing the same should we be in the area again. Also should any friends be going to the area, we will be giving them the name of your site as one to go to.

Once we left your site, we ventured into the Peak district to a much larger site but found it to be a massive disappointment, often lamenting that we could not transport your site to the area we were now in.

Once again, thanks.

Hi This is a super little campsite. We were really made welcome, and made to feel special. Nothing was too much trouble, the facilities were quite basic but totally in keeping with the site. Showers, toilets, dish washing facilities, hot water - more than enough, even when the site was full. An ideal site for visiting the surrounding attractions. We will be coming back - well done and thank you for making our holiday so special

We're back home again from this site we will give you're camping 4 stars.

June 2007

Dear Julie,

Having spent last weekend at Stonehenge Touring Park, we just had to email you.

It was our first ever visit to your park, and what a fantastic place it was. No hassles, extremely good size pitches and good old fashioned family fun.

The toilet / shower blocks were kept immaculate as was the dishwashing area and the constant supply of hot water was unbelievable (unlike many other larger sites that we have visited over the years.)

Your site offers people like us a completely relaxing time where good old fashioned family fun takes over from the stresses of the working week.

My husband, daughter (10) and myself almost lost track of time playing cricket, badminton, boules etc. and even our camping neighbours joined in for friendly competition.

We have already highly recommended you to friends of ours, and can't wait to come back SOON. We only live in Warminster, but once at Stonehenge Touring Park, we feel like we are a million miles away!

Well done and keep up the good work, hope to see you very soon, that is if you have a vacancy for large tent with electric hook-up for 2 nights - Friday 22nd June / Saturday 23rd June. At present it is just 2 adults, 1 child, but that may well change to a few more.

With Very Kind Regards

Maria, Paul and Mica

May 2007

Hi Julie and family,
just to say thanks, we had a lovely stay at the park and had some lovely camping neighbours. They all commented on how well behaved 6 teenagers were!! So they did us proud. The weekend was capped by the fantastic weather at Stonehenge and a beautiful visit to Salisbury, we were lucky enough to catch a service at the Cathedral. We hope to see you again and have recommended the site to good friends within our vw club.

Have a good summer regards Clare

Lovely camping and caravanning site not far from Stonehenge. It's in a tiny village called Orcheston. Campsite itself allows caravans in the same field as tents. Spacious field with climbing frame for children. Site shop open, clean shower block. Good for wandering, we found a Norman church hidden away after going for an evening stroll. The campsite allows BBQ's as long as they're raised on bricks and disposed of properly. Dogs allowed.
Only thing I will say is, the ground is rife with flint. We barely had enough pegs left after taking a very long time to put the tent up! If going, take twice as many as you would normally use.

Perfect location, calm and well looked after

Stayed three nights in mid July, very nice owners, helpful. It was busy, but quiet, clean toilets and showers. When I go to Wiltshire again I'll stay at Stonehenge Camping.

Good day,

I hope this e-mail finds you and your family well. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and to praise your wonderful camp site.

The facilities were excellent and you were always there to help with any queries. Initially booked for just 2 nights, you provided us with a pitch for a further 3 nights at very short notice for which we were very grateful. Putting tents up and taking them down in the rain is not a welcoming thought. You even through in a field mouse for free!!!

Thank you once again for making my first visit in a lot of years to Wiltshire a pleasant memory. We will recommend your site to anyone who asks and I will probably bring some friends down to Thruxton this coming year. We are already looking at dates.
