USING THE GENERATOR

(We recommend you print these instructions for future reference)

1. Before starting make sure you have entered the “hours used” reading in the start column, against your groups name on the hours record card. The card is on the generator door.

2. On your departure fill in the “hours used” on the hour meter in the finished column, take the start figure from the finished figure to give you the hours you have used and will be charged for (enter only full hours, not part hours).

3. To start the generator, turn the start knob from the off position to the manual position. The Generator will automatically start approximately one minute later.

4. To stop the generator, turn the starter knob back to the off position.

5. Please make sure that the fuel tank has plenty of fuel in it (use the dipstick to measure the fuel). Spare fuel is kept in cupboard under the fuel tank.

6. If the low fuel light is on and the generator is not running you will have to fill the tank by hand until the low fuel light goes off, you can then restart the generator and continue to fill the fuel tank by the pump.

7. Remember the generator STARTS AUTOMATICALLY so please stand clear as it starts.

8. When leaving the building please make sure you turn all the electrics off as it can harm the generator if you try to start it under full load.

9. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES  must you use any other electrical equipment other than what is supplied by the campsite as this can overload the main electrical cables from the generator to the building resulting in possible fires.

10. The generator MUST BE TURNED OFF BY 2300 hrs (11pm).
